Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.

Details of the Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Offences

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
